MEDVETS

From classroom to career.

Youth Employment Services

A certificate without a job is a receipt. MEDVETS builds the full pipeline — training, placement and the first ninety days on the job.

Mission Overview

What this mission does

Youth Employment Services is where MEDVETS training turns into a pay cheque. We work backwards from employer demand: local partners tell us which roles they cannot fill, and we build the cohort that fills them.

Participants receive workforce readiness training, a résumé and interview block, and a registered apprenticeship or direct placement. MEDVETS supplies the boots, the tools and the bus pass so nothing trivial derails a career.

Retention support runs for ninety days after hire. A MEDVETS coordinator checks in with both the young person and the employer, resolving friction early — which is why our placements stick.

Purpose & Objectives

  • Move young people into wage-earning work, not just workshops.
  • Partner directly with employers who commit to hire.
  • Remove the practical barriers: transport, tools, clothing, childcare.
  • Stay with each participant through their first three months on the job.
